Trelawney Stud Celebrates NZTBA Breeder of the Year Award 2024

“We are truly honoured to receive the Breeder of the Year award”

Trelawney Stud was honoured with the NZTBA Breeder of the Year award, sponsored by Dunstan Feeds, at the 2024 National Thoroughbred Awards held last night in Cambridge. This accolade underscores the stud’s exceptional contribution to the thoroughbred breeding industry.

The award highlights Trelawney Stud’s outstanding breeding achievements, notably exemplified by Pride of Jenni. Bred by Trelawney and a daughter of Pride of Dubai, Pride of Jenni, though foaled in Australia, has made a significant impact on the racing world. Her impressive performances include a daring all-the-way victory in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and a remarkable feat of winning both the Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes and the WFA Cantala in the same week during Cup Week. This double win was the first of its kind in 35 years, showcasing her extraordinary talent and versatility.

In addition to the Breeder of the Year award, Faith Taylor, a valued member of the Trelawney team, was honored with the Personality of the Year title. Her dedication and positive influence within the industry were warmly recognized.

“We are truly honoured to receive the Breeder of the Year award,” said Brent Taylor. “This reflects the hard work of our team and the exceptional talent of horses like Pride of Jenni. We are also delighted that my mother, Faith Taylor, was recognized with the Personality of the Year award. Her passion and commitment have been vital to our success.”

Trelawney Stud congratulates all the winners of the night and remains focused on upholding its high standards and continuing its dedication to the thoroughbred industry. The awards serve as a meaningful acknowledgment of their ongoing efforts and a motivation to maintain excellence.
