Anushka Shesastar, the Proisir – Blitzabeel filly, is already making waves in the racing world. Sold for $130,000 by Cliff Goss (Cherry Taylor's father) at the Ready To Run Sale in November 2023, she was purchased by the N & P Balia Family Trust.
Trained by John Bary, Anushka Shesastar quickly proved her worth. After winning all three of her jump outs and a trial, she made an impressive debut at Woodville on Sunday, August 11, 2024. In the Maiden Three-Year-Old 1200, she delivered a solid performance, with jockey Joe Doyle guiding her to victory.
John Bary shared his thoughts on the filly, saying, "Leading up to that, she'd had three jump outs, which she won all three for me and then won the trial. The owner is Narendra Balia and he's had horses with me since I began training. He brought her out of the Ready To Run Sale."
Bary continued, "Her next assignment will be here at Hastings in the Gold Trail. I'd like to give another softer race, but there's no three-year-old races that sort of fit that build. So she'll run here on Saturday week in the Gold Trail. I know it's a big step up, but hopefully she can do it. She's always shown plenty of ability."
"She's been quite tough, been very tough to deal with. She knows herself, she's quite a little madam, but we do love her around the barn. She's got a huge personality and hopefully she can really have a great season."
With such a promising start and a dedicated trainer behind her, Anushka Shesastar is certainly one to watch as she continues to develop in the racing circuit.
