"I've had a lot of success buying from Trelawney Stud."

Trainer Tony Pike recently spotlighted Storm Front, a standout colt by Snitzel out of Indecision, who was bred and sold by Trelawney Stud at the Karaka Sales for $400,000.

The colt impressed at the recent Ellerslie trials, prompting Pike to say, Storm Front has “shown tremendous ability and potential. His trial performance was exactly what we hoped for and more. He's definitely one to watch."

“He’s a lovely colt that we have a high opinion of and he couldn’t have trialled any more impressively,” Pike said.

“He went to the front on the bridle, and as most two-year-olds do the first time around Ellerslie, he had a good look at everything coming down the straight and possibly raced a bit greenly over the final stages.”

Storm Front was considered a strong buy despite his hefty price tag. Pike noted, "Although his price was high, for a colt of his breeding and type, it was reasonable. He was a stunning individual out of a very successful mare I trained, and I've had a lot of success buying from Trelawney Stud."

Looking ahead, Trelawney Stud is already preparing for the 2025 Karaka Sales, where they will present a promising Savabeel colt.

Brent Taylor from Trelawney has added that "we're excited about the Savabeel colt we'll offer next year. He has all the attributes of a top-class racehorse, and we're confident he will attract significant interest."
