Bred by Trelawney and long-time partner John Struthers, Shanwah – a striking colt from Too Darn Hot’s first crop – delivered a blistering performance at Caulfield on Monday, winning in class record time. This follow-up to his maiden victory at Mornington has firmly marked him as a rising star.

After a flawless start, Shanwah tucked into the trail, and when the gap appeared at the top of the straight, he exploded, powering away to a commanding 3-length victory, easing down as he crossed the line.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and ridden by Blake Shinn, the three-year-old took another impressive step forward, following up his maiden win with a dominant performance in a Benchmark 64 over 1800m.

"Clearly, he's taken the next step," said stable representative Jack Turnbull. "We've got some exciting options ahead, including the Autumn Classic (G2) in 12 days or the Alister Clark (G2) in a month. We’ll talk with Kevin, Ciaron, and Blake, but today’s win was very impressive."

Trelawney, known for producing top-quality horses, is also set to offer Shanwah's half-brother at the upcoming Inglis Easter Sales – another exciting prospect to keep an eye on.
