Oceana Dream, bred by Judi Wanless and reared at Trelawney Stud, is the latest in a long line of successful horses from this renowned farm, running third in the Eagle Technology Avondale Guineas (G2) over the weekend Oceana Dream showed he is right on track to be a major contender in Trackside NZ Derby.
Trelawney Stud, owned and run by the Taylor family, has built a legacy of producing top-tier thoroughbreds, with the Wanless family being long-time loyal friends who has already tasted success with the Trelawney brand with victory of Amalfi in the 2001 VRC Derby along with breeding at Trelawney their favourite mare Lights Of Heaven.
Trained by Roger James and Robert Wellwood, the gelding is eyeing up a major test at the NZ Derby in early March 2025 and the partnership looking to go back to back with Derby success after Orchestral winning in 2024.
As Trelawney Stud continues to produce champions, Oceana Dream represents the exciting next chapter in the Wanless family's legacy of success.
