The stallion boxes at Trelawney Stud have been graced with some incredible stallions over the years. None greater than foundation stallion Foxbridge who under Seton Otway's management headed the sires' premiership for 11 seasons and was crowned champion New Zealand Broodmare Sire 11 times also.
Under the Taylor ownership Trelawney Stud stood Kingdom Bay, a two-time New Zealand champion sire and the first colonial-bred horse to win the premiership.
In 1997 Carnegie began his southern hemisphere career at Trelawney Stud, siring VRC Derby winner Amalfi and Group winner Carnegie Express. Though the farm longer stands stallions, Trelawney bred are an increasing feature on the Australasian stallion roster. Ocean Park, whose progeny are dominating on both sides of the Tasman, and new recruits Spieth and Grunt all carry the Trelawney brand and were sold through their New Zealand Bloodstock draft. The Taylors now concentrate on developing their female bloodlines, investing in quality race fillies and mares to create an enviable broodmare band that will ensure the Trelawney legacy of success will continue for many years to come.
